Sprint APN settings do not work anymore, because there is no Sprint network left to connect to. T-Mobile merged with Sprint on April 1, 2020 and says Sprint’s 3G network was retired on March 31, 2022 and its LTE network on June 30, 2022. A phone that came from Sprint now needs T-Mobile’s settings.
If you landed here from an old forum thread about Sprint data or MMS problems, that is the whole answer. The values below are the ones to use.
The settings a former Sprint phone uses now
These are T-Mobile’s values, copied from T-Mobile’s data and APN settings page on October 8, 2026.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | T-Mobile |
| APN | fast.t-mobile.com |

| APN protocol | IPv4/IPv6 |
- Open Settings and find Access Point Names. It is usually under Mobile network, inside Connections or Network and internet.
- Choose the T-Mobile APN if there is one. If not, open the menu and add a new APN.
- Enter the values from the table and save.
- Delete any other APN in the list, including old Sprint entries. T-Mobile says an APN named FOTA can stay.
- Restart the phone, then open a web page and send a picture message.
Before you type anything, try a network settings reset. T-Mobile says phones it sells, “and many that aren’t”, set themselves up. The steps for that, and the notes for iPhone, are on our T-Mobile APN settings page.
Will an old Sprint phone work at all?
Not always, and the APN cannot fix that. T-Mobile’s own caveat applies: “We can’t guarantee these settings will make an unsupported device fully functional on the T-Mobile network.” A T-Mobile page for business customers says most Sprint devices keep working once the Sprint SIM is swapped for a T-Mobile SIM, and that some “must be replaced”.
So the order is: get a T-Mobile SIM, then check the settings.
Sprint APN settings we recorded in 2016
For reference only. These pointed at Sprint’s network, which is gone.
Archive: 2016
Recorded in 2016. They connect to nothing today.

My phone lost service after an Android update
If the phone was set up for Sprint, an update may have left it trying the old APN. Reset network settings, then check that the selected APN is T-Mobile’s.
