Virgin Mobile APN settings for the United States no longer connect to anything. Virgin Mobile USA stopped selling service in January 2020 and moved its customers to Boost Mobile. The Sprint network it ran on is gone too. T-Mobile says Sprint’s 3G network was retired on March 31, 2022 and its LTE network on June 30, 2022.

The APN, or access point name, tells a phone how to reach its carrier’s data network. When the network is switched off, no APN will bring it back.

What to do instead

If your line was a Virgin Mobile line in 2020, it became a Boost Mobile account. Boost is the carrier to ask about settings today.

Boost says iPhones need nothing: “If you have an iPhone, your APN settings will be automatically updated.” For Android, Boost publishes settings only for the mobile hotspot feature, not for general data. Its support team can tell you what your SIM needs. More on our Boost Mobile page.

If you are using a different carrier now, use that carrier’s values. Ours are listed in the APN settings section.

Not the Virgin Mobile you meant?

Virgin Mobile brands in the United Kingdom, Canada and elsewhere are different companies with different settings. This site covers the United States only. What happened to the American brand is on our Virgin Mobile USA page.
