The Cricket APN settings start with a four-letter APN, endo. The APN, or
access point name, tells your phone how to reach Cricket’s data network.
Cricket runs on AT&T’s towers but it does not use AT&T’s APN, so a phone
brought over from AT&T needs new values. The ones below are copied from
Cricket’s bring-your-own-Android page.
Wait for the automatic setup first
Cricket describes two ways to set up an Android phone, and the first needs no typing: “Shortly after you insert the Cricket SIM card, you should see a notification for installing the Cricket settings.” Follow that notification if you get it. Enter the values by hand only if it never appears.
Cricket APN settings for Android
Cricket’s page lists the fields below and nothing for proxy, port, username or password, so leave those empty.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Internet |
| APN | endo |
| Proxy | leave blank |
| Port | leave blank |
| Username | leave blank |
| Password | leave blank |
| MMSC | http://mmsc.mobile.att.net |
| MMS proxy | proxy.mobile.att.net |
| MMS port | 80 |
| MCC | 310 |
| MNC | 150 |
| APN type | default,mms,fota,hipri,supl |
| APN protocol | IPv4v6 |
Cricket also sets APN roaming protocol to IPv4v6 and says to leave the APN
switched on.
- Open Settings and find Access Point Names in the mobile network settings.
- Add a new APN.
- Enter the values from the table.
- Save, then select the new APN.
- Restart the phone and send a picture message to test.
Cricket APN settings for iPhone
Cricket’s Android page is the only place it prints these values. For an iPhone, Apple says you can view or edit the APN only “if your carrier allows it”, under Settings, Cellular, Cellular Data Network. If that screen is missing on your iPhone, the settings come from Cricket and you cannot type them in.
If it still does not work
Can I use AT&T’s APN on Cricket?
No. AT&T tells its own customers to use ENHANCEDPHONE or NXTGENPHONE. Cricket
uses endo, with a different network code. Only the MMSC and MMS proxy are
the same on both.
I was an Aio Wireless customer
Aio Wireless was merged into Cricket in 2014. A phone set up for Aio uses the Cricket values on this page.
Picture messages fail but the web works
Check the three MMS lines and make sure APN type includes mms.
