Ting Mobile APN settings depend on which Ting SIM is in the phone. The APN, or access point name, tells your phone how to reach the data network. Ting says, “When you activate with Ting, all your APN settings are usually sent automatically.” The values below are for when that fails, and are copied from Ting’s APN setup guide.
Ting Mobile APN settings for Android
Ting’s guide covers two SIMs, which it calls X3 and X1. The Name is
Ting Data on both.

Ting lists no proxy, port, username or password.
- Open Settings and find Access Point Names in the mobile network settings.
- Add a new APN.
- Enter the values from your SIM’s column exactly as written.
- Save, then select the new APN.
- Restart the phone and send a picture message to test.
Extra entries Ting lists
For hotspot on an X3 SIM, Ting gives a second APN with the same values as
the X3 column and one change: the APN is tethering.dish.com.
For picture messages on an X1 SIM, it gives a separate entry.

Ting has a third kind of SIM, V1, with its own help centre. We did not read its settings.
Ting Mobile APN settings for iPhone
There are no values to type. Ting says: “You can install the carrier bundle on an iPhone by going to Settings, tapping General, and selecting About. If the carrier is set to Ting, then you’re all set to go!”

How do I know which SIM I have?
Ting’s guide names the SIMs and does not say, in the part we read, how to tell them apart. Ask Ting’s support, or look in your Ting account.
