US Mobile APN settings depend on which of its three networks your line is on. The APN, or access point name, tells your phone how to reach the data network, and US Mobile has a different one for Warp, Dark Star and Light Speed. The values below are copied from US Mobile’s APN settings page.
On an iPhone you do not type anything
US Mobile says: “If you’re using an Apple (iOS) device, you don’t need to manually enter your APN settings. We offer profiles you can download on the website”. The rest of this page is for Android.
US Mobile APN settings for Android
Use the column for the network your line is on.
| Field | Warp | Dark Star | Light Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | Warp 2 | Darkstar | US Mobile |
| APN | vzwinternet | ereseller | wholesale |
| MMSC | http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms | http://mmsc.mobile.att.net | http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc |
| MMS proxy | proxy.mobile.att.net | ||
| MMS port | 80 | 80 | |
| MCC | 311 | 310 | |
| MNC | 480 | 410 | |
| APN type | default,supl | default,supl,mms,fota | |
| APN protocol | IPv4/IPv6 | IPv4/IPv6 |
An empty cell is a field US Mobile does not list for that network. US Mobile says “APN values are case-sensitive”, and “If you see settings not mentioned here, leave them unchanged.”
- Open Settings and find Access Point Names in the mobile network settings.
- Add a new APN.
- Enter the values from the table exactly as written.
- Save, then select the new APN.
- Restart the phone and send a picture message to test.
Extra entries on Warp
US Mobile lists two optional APNs for Warp besides the main one.
| Field | Warp IMS | Warp CBS |
|---|---|---|
| APN | VZWIMS | VZWAPP |
| MMSC | http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms | |
| MCC | 311 | 311 |
| MNC | 480 | 480 |
| APN type | ims,ia | cbs,mms |
Dark Star, if the APN will not save
US Mobile’s tip for Dark Star is to use MNC 280 “if the APN doesn’t save
when entered” with 410.
Older Light Speed SIMs
US Mobile splits Light Speed into an upgraded network and a legacy one. The table above is the upgraded one. For the legacy network it gives these.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | US Mobile |
| APN | pwg |
| MMSC | http://pwg.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc |
| MCC | 310 |
| MNC | 260, or 240 if it will not save with 260 |
| APN protocol | IPv4/IPv6 |
| APN roaming protocol | IPv4 |
It says to leave APN type empty on the legacy network, and to try
default, supl, mms if data or picture messages do not work.
Questions
Which carrier is behind each name?
US Mobile does not say. What Warp, Dark Star and Light Speed are, and what their settings suggest, is on our US Mobile page.
