Verizon plans come in two kinds. Verizon Prepaid has four plans that list from $35 to $70 a month for one line. Postpaid is now a single plan called Simplicity, advertised at $30 a line after two discounts. Verizon owns one of the three national networks in the United States, so every plan here runs on Verizon’s own towers.

Verizon prepaid plans

Four plans, paid a month at a time. The list price applies to your first month. From the second month an Auto Pay discount takes $10 off the plans at $45 and up, and $5 off Talk & Text.

PlanFirst monthWith Auto Pay after thatData
Talk & Text$35$30Unlimited talk and text, data at 2G speeds only
15 GB$45$3515 GB, hotspot use comes out of the same allowance
Unlimited$60$50Unlimited, with 5 GB of mobile hotspot
Unlimited Plus$70$60Unlimited, with 50 GB of premium network access

Prices are from Verizon’s prepaid plans page, read on October 8, 2026. Taxes and fees are extra.

If you do not use Auto Pay, Verizon gives a loyalty discount on plans at $45 and up. It is $5 a month after three months of service and another $5 after nine. You get one discount or the other, not both, so the lowest price is the same either way. Auto Pay just gets you there eight months sooner.

Unlimited Plus is the only prepaid plan that includes talk, text and data in Mexico and Canada. Verizon also says a second Unlimited line takes $20 a month off.

Verizon’s postpaid plan

Verizon’s unlimited plans page shows one plan, Simplicity. Verizon’s own words: “One plan. One price. Just $30/line/month after Auto Pay and switch discount. Plus taxes and fees.” The switch discount is $15 a month.

That $30 is a price with conditions. The page does not print what one line costs without Auto Pay or after the switch discount ends, so we do not list it. Ask for that number before you sign up.

Simplicity includes unlimited data on Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network and 10 GB of mobile hotspot. The page also says Verizon “will continue to offer myPlan”, its older postpaid lineup.

Does Verizon support eSIM?

Yes for prepaid. The prepaid plans page says, “You can also use eSIM to activate your new phone plan.”

Brands that run on Verizon’s network

An MVNO, a mobile virtual network operator, sells service on a network it rents. These brands use Verizon’s. Several of them belong to Verizon itself.

Setting up data on a Verizon phone

Phones bought from Verizon configure themselves. If you brought your own phone and data or picture messages do not work, see Verizon APN settings.
