Verizon teased out the new Motorola Droid Turbo 2 (2015) even before the official unveiling, which is planned to be on October 27. The tweet says, “Introducing the perfect phone for imperfect people” attached along with a teaser video and images.

The upcoming phone is already known for its interesting features like the “Shatterproof” display and 2TB expandable storage. In the teaser video, the phone was apparently dropped to the floor to prove the shatterproof feature. It claims to be a durable smartphone which can
handle accidental drops from a height of at least five feet, however, it would be a different story when it falls on a concrete floor or from higher heights.

The Droid Turbo 2 is rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, which comes with a 64-bit octa-core CPU and paired with 3GB of RAM and features a large 5.43-inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 resolution). It is reported to be running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop instead of the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The camera setup will consist of a 21-megapixel rear main unit and a 5-megapixel front facing snapper. It comes in both a 32GB and a 64GB internal storage variants.
Another interesting fact is that the upcoming smartphone will apparently have up to 48 hours of battery life. As we have seen that last year’s Droid Turbo came with a massive 3,900 mAh battery, one would think a large battery should be on offer this time around as well. Apart from that Motorola also claims that just 15 minutes of charging will be enough to use the phone for up to 13 hours. The new Droid Turbo 2 will apparently support up to 2 TB of expandable storage which is of its first kind to be in the market.
The Droid Turbo 2 will also be the first to be added to the company’s Moto Maker customization service which would let you to further customize your device.
