Verizon Wireless is the largest cell phone carrier in the United States. It is in the wireless game since 1995 and now has over one hundred million users. Verizon became the second company of U.S. to provide LTE services in the late 2010 but now it is in position number one. It provides both 3G and 4G LTE high-speed data and has the best wireless network across the entire United States, even those places where most other networks do not work.
In 2014, Verizon launched VoLTE service for video calling both in standard and High Definition (HD). Verizon offers unlimited talk and text with varying amount of allotted data and unlimited video streaming. Therefore, it scores highest in customer satisfaction surveys.

Previously, Verizon had the option to give subsidy on the purchase of cell phone. You had to sign a contract with Verizon for two years and purchase a new phone whose cost may vary from zero dollars to three hundred dollars. Along with that, you were needed to pay $60, the monthly charge for the service. But now, after the update of Verizon plans, this has gone invalid. However, you can choose to pay upfront on a monthly basis. If you take the instance of iPhone 6, you can pay for it in two ways:
- Pay $650 upfront and $50 per month for service
- Pay $0 upfront and $77.08 per month for service
Both of these methods of payments will sum up to $1850 in a span of two years. This $1850 is $210 more than the previous contract plan of Verizon. So, the new upgraded version of Verizon plan is more expensive than its competitors in the market; however, it does provide excellent network coverage throughout the nation.
If you are an existing customer of Verizon and you want to upgrade to the new Verizon plan, then you will have to pay the full charge of the plan including $40 per month for any on contract phone. If your phone is off contract, $20 per month will be charged.
