Ultra Mobile plans cost $19 to $59 for a single month, and less per month if you pay for several at once. Ultra Mobile is a prepaid brand built around international calling, and it belongs to T-Mobile, which bought it together with Mint Mobile on May 1, 2024.
Ultra Mobile plans and prices
The figures are the price per month. Every term is paid in full at the start.
| Plan | 1 month | 3 months | 6 months | 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Talk & Text | Not shown | $13 | $11 | $10 |
| 4 GB | $19 | $16 | $15 | $13 |
| 8 GB | $24 | $22 | $19 | $17 |
| 12 GB | $29 | $26 | $23 | $20 |
| 24 GB | $39 | $35 | $31 | $27 |
| Ultra Unlimited | $49 | $44 | $39 | $34 |
| Ultra Unlimited+ | $59 | $53 | $47 | $41 |
Prices are from the archived plans page. The page says “Upfront payment required. Taxes & fees extra.”
So the 4 GB plan for three months is $48 on the day you buy it, and Ultra Unlimited for three months is $132.
On that day Ultra was also running a sale, with 15% off six-month plans and 30% off twelve-month plans for new customers. Sales like that come and go, so the table shows the regular prices.
What unlimited means at Ultra
Both unlimited plans carry the same warning: “Heavy data users (>35GB/mo.) may notice slower speeds when our network is busy.” Video streams at about 480p.
The difference between them is hotspot data. Ultra Unlimited includes up to 10 GB of it and Unlimited+ up to 25 GB.
International calling is the point
Every Ultra plan includes “Unlimited Talk to 90+ International Destinations” and unlimited talk and text in Mexico and Canada. The 24 GB plan and the two unlimited plans add 5 GB of data to use in Mexico.
Lycamobile and Gen Mobile are built the same way, if you want to compare.
The family offer
Ultra advertised “4 Unlimited Lines for $100/mo.” It applies to the one-month Unlimited plan, which is $49 for a single line, and each line gets its own data.
Which network does Ultra Mobile use?
T-Mobile’s. T-Mobile’s announcement of the purchase said the deal “locks in Mint and Ultra’s connectivity to T-Mobile’s industry-leading 5G network for the long-term”.
Does Ultra Mobile support eSIM?
Yes. The plans page lists a “Free 3-in-1 SIM Card or eSIM” with every plan, and promises “instant eSIM digital delivery”.
Bringing your own phone
Ultra says “Cell phones from nearly every manufacturer will work on our network as long as they are 4G VoLTE or 5G compatible and use a SIM card.” The phone may need unlocking first.
Data settings
We could not read Ultra’s setup pages, so we have no APN values to print. Mint Mobile is Ultra’s sister brand on the same network, but do not assume its settings are the same.
