Phone plans for seniors come in two kinds. A few carriers sell a cheaper plan to anyone over 50 or 55 who shows proof of age. Others advertise a “senior” offer that turns out to apply in one state, or only if you also buy home internet. The useful ones are T-Mobile’s 55+ plans and Consumer Cellular’s unlimited plan for customers aged 50 and over.
Every figure below is from the carrier’s own site, read on October 8, 2026.
The offers side by side
| Carrier | Offer | Price | Who qualifies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consumer Cellular | Unlimited talk, text and data | $35 for one line, $60 for two | Age 50 and over |
| Consumer Cellular with AARP | Two unlimited lines | $55 for two | Active AARP members |
| T-Mobile | Essentials Choice 55+ 2.0 | $50 for one line, $70 for two, before AutoPay | Account holder aged 55 or over |
| Verizon | 55+ discount on Unlimited Welcome | $45 for one line, $80 for two | Age 55 or over, Florida residents, new customers |
| AT&T | AT&T 55+ plan | $99 for two lines with home internet | Account owner aged 55 or over, with AT&T home internet |
Consumer Cellular: the lowest price, from age 50
One line of unlimited talk, text and data is $35 a month. Two are $60, or $55 for AARP members. Those prices “include $5 credit for AutoPay and E-billing”, and they do not include state or local taxes.
The rule is short: “Unlimited data plan offer is only for customers age 50+. Age validation required.” High-speed data is reduced after 35 GB on a single line and after 50 GB on a multi-line plan.
AARP members who choose a different plan get 5% off the monthly service.
T-Mobile: the widest 55+ range
T-Mobile has three 55+ plans. These are the prices on their labels, before AutoPay. T-Mobile says it is “$5 more per line” without AutoPay.
| Plan | One line | Two lines |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials Choice 55+ 2.0 | $50 | $70 |
| Experience More with 55+ Savings 2.0 | $75 | $110 |
| Experience Beyond with 55+ Savings 2.0 | $90 | $140 |
With AutoPay, T-Mobile advertises two lines of Essentials Choice 55 “for only $30/month per line”. Taxes and fees are extra, including a recovery fee of $5.49 a line.
Only one person has to be old enough. T-Mobile’s answer to whether everyone on the account must be 55: “No. To sign up for a 55+ plan, only the primary account holder must provide proof of age.” It accepts a driver’s license or passport. The 55+ plans are for one or two lines.
Verizon: Florida only
Verizon’s 55+ discount is real and narrow. Its own FAQ says: “This plan is a local offer for Florida residents only and isn’t available in any other states at this time.” You must be 55 or older, live in Florida and be a new customer, and it applies only to the Unlimited Welcome plan. The prices, $45 for one line or $80 for two, are with Auto Pay and paper-free billing.
AT&T: tied to home internet
AT&T’s current support article says: “You must sign up for both AT&T Wireless and AT&T Fiber or AT&T Internet Air service to enjoy the AT&T 55+ plan discount.” The advertised bundle is two unlimited lines and home internet for $99 a month, plus taxes and fees.
When AT&T launched the plan in 2025 it quoted wireless-only prices. Its current article requires the internet service, so ask AT&T which applies before you count on it.
Do you need a senior plan at all?
Maybe not. Several plans open to everyone cost less than the 55+ ones. Visible is $25 a month for unlimited data with taxes included. Tello is $15 for 10 GB. They are on our cheapest plans page.
A 55+ plan makes most sense when you want two unlimited lines at a combined price. Consumer Cellular at $55 to $60 for two, and T-Mobile at $60 for two with AutoPay, are the ones to compare.
