Cox Mobile plans are no longer sold on Cox’s website. When we read cox.com on October 8, 2026, its mobile plans page was headed “Spectrum Mobile” and offered “one free year of Spectrum Mobile”. Cox Mobile’s own plans were not on it.
What happened
Charter, the company behind Spectrum, bought Cox. The trade site TelecomTV reported that the two completed the deal on August 21, 2026. We have that date from its report and not from Charter or Cox directly.
Cox’s site shows the result. The plans it now lists are Spectrum’s: “Spectrum Mobile lines start at $30/mo for Unlimited, $40/mo for Unlimited Plus, and $50/mo for Unlimited Plus Premium”.
If you have Cox Mobile now
We could not find a notice telling existing Cox Mobile customers what happens to their lines, or when. That is why we describe Cox Mobile as winding down and not as closed.
Two things on Cox’s site are worth knowing.
The free year of Spectrum Mobile is not for you. Cox’s offer says it “Excludes Cox Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, Fixed Wireless Access and StraightUp Internet customers.”
Spectrum Mobile needs Spectrum Internet. The page says it “requires an active Spectrum Internet account to sign up and to stay eligible for service.”
If you want to leave instead, your number is yours to take. See our guide to porting your number.
What replaces it
Spectrum Mobile. Its three plans, the first-year discount and the small print on single-line pricing are on that page.
What we could not confirm
Cox Mobile’s old plan prices, the network it used, and its eSIM and data settings. Cox’s pages for those now show Spectrum’s content or load empty.
