Iowa iWireless APN Settings – Complete Setup Guide

In this post I will share with you how to setup the iWireless Iowa APN Settings, however before doing that also make sure that the following settings are setup as given.

  1. Goto Settings -> General -> Network  and now make sure you have the following configuration.
  2. Enable 3G | On (Recommended)
  3. Cellular Data | On
  4. Data Roaming | On

Why should I change my Iowa APN settings?

Sometimes due to some error or mistakes you might have removed your APN settings or lost it. So using this you can manually add apn settings to your android or iOS device. It also useful if you are using unlocked mobile phones and need to setup the internet and mms settings.

  • APN Protocol:  IPv4
  • APN Roaming Protocol:  IPv4

Note: Leave the field blank or default value if nothing is provided for it in the above settings.

If you are in the area Cedar Rapids, add APN as i2.iwireless.com and also your MCC and MNC is set default at 310/770 respectively. Leave the APN Type blank. And everything else as default or blank.

    • Hi,

      Please tell us which mobile or device you are using? Also make sure that you have entered everything correctly. If you even put a extra spacing while entering the apn settings, it might not get saved.

      Also try this, instead of providing the Name as ‘iWireless’ enter some other names.. like ‘buzzmobile’ or so (it doesn’t matter what name you provide there). The name is given just so that we can differentiate different settings we have entered in our device. But maybe if there is already apn settings with iWireless name then that might be the reason for the new apn not getting saved. So try that.

    • Hi! I have an LG-E970 that is an ATT phone. It was unlocked when I got it and my sim card worked with voice and text but no data. I tried all of your options and many others online but it would discard the setting as invalid or connect but not give data access. I found out what works for data on iWireless in my area of Cedar Rapids. Name it iWireless and simply put the APN as i2.iwireless.com leave everything else as is, save and viola! This is the pre-pay service also btw.

    • Just to add in my MCC and MNC is set default at 310/770 respectively. I left APN type blank. When I say leave everything else as is I mean leave everything else in default or blank.

  2. Hi I have a Samsung note 2 it was at&t an is now unlocked on I wireless everything works good except I can not send messages out I can receive them but can’t send them out customers service said it was probably the wrong apn please help!!!!!

  3. Hello, I have bought a couple of t-mobile phones from ebay. They are samsung T759 exhibits. I have a no contract, unlimited plan with Iwireless. Everything on the phone works (web, text, phone) , except picture messaging.
    Any advice?

  5. buzzmobile – does iwireless offer lte on 5c phone that is unlocked? I don’t see an option to enable lte in cellular settings.

  6. I use Samsung note 3 in India with service provider being Airtel. I am in Fairfield area and am unable to connect to any network. Need your help to reslve this issue.
